Fairfax, VA, USA. The Manual for Diagnosis of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) is the desktop reference used most often by physicians and other caregivers for diagnostics, both in the United States and around the world. The American Psychiatric Association (APA) published the DSM-IV in 1994. The APA has named the Work Groups and membership for the next DSM revision, DSM-V, scheduling an early draft for comment in 2009 and completion for May 2012.
The APA announcement stimulated wide interest in the professional, patient, and activist communities. TS-Si.org expanded its coverage of this important development with a variety of articles that touch on the DSM-V deliberations.
