DNA Blueprints Guide The Construction Of Specific Human Structures
Chad Mirkin discusses using DNA to build a three-dimensional structure out of gold, likening the process to building a house. Starting with basic materials such as bricks, wood, siding, stone and shingles, a construction team can build many different types of houses out of the same building blocks.

Mountain View, CA, USA. If you feel your head going all spongy, perhaps you have read too little of xkcd (or too much). Anyway, it appears here as a regular feature. The webcomic's creator, Randall Patrick Munroe (17 Oct 1984) is a self-described "pen/pencil operator" and programmer best known for creating his webcomic.
Munroe has sequence in his life. The last we heard, it goes something like this:
Munroe on Munroe. "I'm just this guy, you know? I'm a CNU graduate with a degree in physics. Before starting xkcd, I worked on robots at NASA's Langley Research Center in Virginia. As of June 2007 I live in Massachusetts. In my spare time I climb things, open strange doors, and go to goth clubs dressed as a frat guy so I can stand around and look terribly uncomfortable.
