Supreme Court: Health Care Law.Washington, DC, USA. On the first day of argument in the health care case, the Supreme Court justices will consider whether they have jurisdiction to hear a challenge to the law’s individual mandate provision before it goes into effect.

Seen by supporters as the Obama administration’s signal achievement, the Affordable Care Act was challenged the day it was signed, March 23, 2010.

As the second anniversary of the Affordable Care Act approaches, a new Commonwealth Fund report finds that 49 states and the District of Columbia have already taken action supporting the law's implementation, such as passing legislation, issuing regulations or other guidance, or actively reviewing insurer filings.

Arizona is only state that has not passed legislation or taken other action to implement early reforms.
