I've been participating in a small, peer-based support group for some years. It's odd, while the group calls itself transgender, every single active member is transsexual and in some stage of transition. Once upon a time there were a couple of crossdressers and transgenderists which showed up with some frequency, but the last year or so, we've been effectively a TS-only group.

I work for a state agency and last year, we had a big development contract which brought in a number of contract programmers. The state pays senior programmers about $25/hr. Say,$32/hr including benefits. They were paying something well over $100/hour to the contracting firm who supplied the programmers, who were receiving about $50/hour. The problem has ALWAYS been the long time period between the Conviction and sentencing and when the sentence is FINALLY carried out. A period of 20 or 30 years gets to be ridiculous. As we both know, the methodology and data collected can be distorted to fit the predetermined conclusions of the author(s); Have we NOT seen that enough in "studies" regarding TS issues.

That is an argument against authority and ignores the actual research topic, methodology, and data collected to support their conclusions. It is far better to engage with the work then simply dismiss it out of hand because of a stereotypical view of the source.

Sadly, the problem is that tax increases do NOT force the state to reduce spending in many instances and fail to bring the increased revenue projected when the tax was proposed. That happened in Illinois and the real result has been that those able to flee and industry have been moving OUT of the state. Governments refuse to reduce spending and to reduce welfare handouts; They then target the "upper income" people that do the most to create jobs. Why has it become acceptable in this country to treat some people differently from others, particularly in terms of taxes. Where in the Constitution does it say that some are...

Other coauthors of the study are UC Berkeley psychologists Dacher Keltner, Rodolfo Mendoza-Denton and Daniel Stancato, UC Berkeley is a left leaning institution and I would NOT trust ANY such study coming out of it; especially out of the "Psychology" School and its minions.

The data initially were drawn from the Berkeley area and involved academics/students. However, this as a big project that had highly diversified sources nationwide. As the article says: "the researchers surveyed the ethical tendencies of more than 1,000 individuals of lower-, middle- and upper-class backgrounds."

How much of the data group drawn from the San Francisco Bay Area (which includes Berkeley obviously)? If so, the study is skewed to a more politically and socially liberal population than that of the United States. Was the source of the non-rich data the students at the Berkeley Campus and the upper class data cherry picked. I would not take the data and conclusions at face value.

I've historically tried to vote for the least anti-freedom candidate. ('Cause actual pro-freedom candidates with a chance of winning are about as common as honest lawyers.)

All I ask as an American Citizen, Voter, and Veteran is that the Government whether controlled by the Democrats or the Republicans follow the Constitution and the limits imposed within it on the scope of the Federal Government; That ALL laws enacted by Congress and signed by the President apply to them equally with NO exclusions and that "serving" in Congress not become a lifetime career for lawyers and that ALL legislations, laws and regulations have a sunset built into them. It certainly doesn't help that teachers traditionally come from the bottom third of ANY college graduating class and many of them majored in "education" which taught nothing of the HARD subjects such as Science, Chemistry and Math. In Grade school I know I was smarter than several of my teachers; same thing in High School and sadly, even in Junior college.

Has ANY state EVER been correct about any projection of revenue, be it from Lotteries or tax increases? Heck, they can't even project spending and costs correctly, usually underestimating them by a factoros at least 50%.
