Gender Transition Surgery? Does that mean a brain transplant?

WIVB-TV News 4 (Buffalo, NY) reported on the transsexual's transition in the Batavia School District and got it wrong.Springfield, Virginia, USA. Where does this stuff come from?

WIVB-TV News 4 (Buffalo, New York) attempted a report on the transition of a teacher in the Batavia School District. The station's website carries an amazing headline: "Science Teacher Will Undergo Gender Transition Surgery"!

Really? Will she have a brain transplant?

The WIVB text is edited down from a defective Associated Press (AP) feed. Media Ranger dealt with that in a related story (" Associated Press Wrong Again About Transsexuals").

The station took the AP text and made it even worse, saying "A science teacher at Batavia High School has informed school leaders that he will undergo gender transition surgery to become a woman."

There you have it. Note:
  • a transsexual woman in transition is referred to as a "he"

  • the spurious reference to "gender transition surgery"

  • a woman will have surgery to become a woman
They even truncated the already incorrect AP statement on legal protection and crisped it up to be a strong declaration "Federal laws protect the teacher's rights to remain on the job".

Really? Since when?

Prove it.
