DNA Blueprints Guide The Construction Of Specific Human Structures
Chad Mirkin discusses using DNA to build a three-dimensional structure out of gold, likening the process to building a house. Starting with basic materials such as bricks, wood, siding, stone and shingles, a construction team can build many different types of houses out of the same building blocks.

![]() Springfield, VA, USA. Well we have heard from the Transgenders again. I'm not talking about the rank and file transgenders, but the capital "T" sort who act like they can make a serious living by confusing the public. So, here we go: stand back, and please do not do this at home. I am a trained professional. (I only wish I was paid to do this.) Repeat after me: transgender is not a sex.
Again: transgender is not a sex.
Why is that so hard to understand? Even the Judeo-Christian bible got that much correct.
Dictionaries get the concept [N2] —
And are even insightful enough to distinguish sex from gender [N3] and its primary definition (after the grammatical ones) to be
Once you understand the difference between the two words, the difference between Harry Benjamin Syndrome (HBS) and Transgenderism becomes clearly apparent — One is about physical sex, the other about sexual identity and the role in society.
People born with HBS strive for a permanent change in their external genitals, ensuring they agree with the sex of their brains. HBS men and women have SEX Reassignment Surgery (SRS). [N5]
People who are transgendered alter their societal identity by assuming social roles or clothing more appropriate to members of the sex opposite their birth sex. Transgender men and women change their outward presentation, not their sexual organs.
Once change is permanent (SRS), the other can be reversed by a change of clothes or removal of silicon injections. One changes sex, the other plays with gender.
Transgenders would like you to believe they are doing both: changing their sex when they changed their gender presentation or social role (apparently vaginas, breasts and penises are unimportant if they are hidden under enough clothes or restrained by the proper binding). Many many tomes they are the first, however, to revert back to the societal role of their physical sex when such a reversion would benefit them.
There are times when being a woman is a bitch, like when all the men talk over you at meetings or ignore your comments as unwelcome intrusions into their discussion. It must be awfully handy to be able to lower your voice and change your clothes when you need to be forceful and one of the boys and pee standing up next to them in the bathroom at the break.
That doesn’t work if you’ve changed your sex. I can’t pee standing up without urine dribbling down my leg, let alone convince the men to stop talking over me with anything less than a softball bat (at times I think what I really need is a squad automatic weapon to effectively interject my comments over the loud clatter of male dominance behavior at meetings).
Physically, at least on this planet, the mammalian world is a divide into male and female. [N5] The physical differences, body and brain, between men and women have not changed in millions of evolutionary years. [N6]
The gender roles have changed to some extent. Societal roles have shown a remarkable fluidity throughout history’s many cultures. In some cultures, women hunt; in some others, men sometimes take care of the children.
But one sex still bears the babies inside their bodies, the other (except at the extremes) remains physically stronger. One sex is quicker to anger and take physical action, the other (except at the extremes) is more conciliatory and generally would rather talk about it than take someone out. One sex must penetrate to reproduce the species, the other must be penetrated to reproduce.
Transgender is not a sex. A transgender person can still have sex but not be a sex other than male or female. The transgender person possessing penetrating organs still penetrates; a transgender possessing a vagina can still be penetrated. The world divides into holes and poles. [N7]
Transgender is also used as a noun for a person who is transgendered although there has been some use of the term transgenderist as the appropriate noun form. Transsexual is and always has been an adjective
although transsexual is sometimes used incorrectly (and ungrammatically) as a noun
Because of the general public’s confusion of transsexual with being transgender, the preferred term for transsexuality is
after Doctor Harry Benjamin who made the first diagnosis of transsexuality and the original standards of treatment, and those of us with the syndrome as
I support those who are transgendered, those who may be cross-dressers, those who are transvestites or gender fuckers. I watch with admiration as they march in the Pride Parades.

The term Harry Benjamin Syndrome (HBS) has not become a standard dictionary entry — yet. [N3] The word gender derives from the Old French gendre in use around 1300. It is from the Latin genus, generis (kind, sort, gender). The word was used in translations of Aristotle’s grammatical term genos. In the Twentieth Century as the word sex took on erotic qualities, gender came to be used as the polite term for the anatomical sex of a human. In the 1960s, feminist writing used the term gender to refer to social attributes and societal roles (especially when translating concepts from the French who have no literal equality for the word sex in English), distinguishing it from the physical sex of a person. In the early years of the third millennium, transgenders use gender to mean the social attributes and societal roles while implying they are talking about physical sex, purposefully confusing the two distinct meanings as it serves their purposes and goals. [N4] The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition. Houghton Mifflin. (2000). ISBN-10: 0395825172. ISBN-13: 978-0395825174. The term Harry Benjamin Syndrome (HBS) has not become a standard dictionary entry — yet. [N5] There are many alternative ways of referring to Sex Reassignment Surgey (SRS). Some are driven by non-USA language considerations, such as Gender reassignment Surgery (GRS); others derive from subjective emotional states, such as Sex Affirmation Surgery (SAS). Well, ok, I take these points but stick with the formal US surgical term for the purposes of our discussion. [N6] For the purposes of this discussion, we will not discuss disorders of sexual development (e.g., those who are intersex) other than HBS. [N7] Suzan Cooke in correspondence. [N8] Thus eliminating the transsexual “T” and removing HBS from the GLBT umbrella (leaving only transgender and transvestites residing there to do as they please.)
