For the technologically disinclined.Ubuntu is a popular distribution of the Linux operating system for desktops, laptops, and servers. Ubuntu goals include an up-to-date yet stable operating system for the average user and a strong focus on usability and ease of installation. It is derived from a previous distribution, Debian.
By the way, Ubuntu is pronounced [uːˈbuːntuː] in English and [ùbúntú] in the Zulu language.
