US Sen. Larry Craig Solicits Applications From Summer Interns Print E-mail

Larry Craig, Republican Senator from Idaho.
"I’m Only Tapping My Foot, Officer"

The tapping your foot for sex code is historically prevalent in Europe and the United States in gay or “I’m really straight but I like to do other men” circles. This is how it works:

Stage One

The first man initiates the assignation by tapping his foot so that his foot can be seen beneath the stall divider.

If he is receptive, the second guy responds with a similar tap.

The first tapper will then move his foot closer to the other person's stall. If the other guy reciprocates, the first will inch ever closer.

This goes on a few times to confirm that the signals aren't an accident or until the two men are within penis distance.

Stage Two

One of the men slides his hand under the divider: this is an invitation for the other man to display his manhood (apparently size counts in restroom stalls).

If interested, the partner kneels on the floor and presenting his penis (or rear end as the case may be) underneath the divider (how high off the ground are these assignation dividers?).

Alternately, the partner can swipe his own hand under the divider (an invitation for the other to go first). Often married men will purposefully display their wedding band to make themselves more alluring.
Washington, DC, USA. Media Ranger is alarmed to learn that Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) has advertised for applications from prospective interns for the summer term (May-August), with a deadline set for 15 March 2008. Craig's fancy footwork led to a misdemeanor guilt plea in Minnesota after he was accused of soliciting sex in the mens' room using the now infamous "foot tapping code". Craig has since announced that this current senate term is his last and will retire at the end of the year when the current Congressional session ends.

US Senators typically hire paid and unpaid interns for summer work doing innocuous tasks while they familiarize themselves with working in Washington.

Craig's office says preference will be given to Idaho applicants attending Idaho schools in their junior or senior years of college. Ordinarily, interns are evaluated for their experience and interests, then paired with staff members to "best utilize their talents".

Your Media Ranger, ever vigilant, called the Senator's ofice and asked whether the kids can bring along a nanny qualified in martial arts to accompany them as they wend their way through the corridors of power.

The senator's office refused comment.

Craig is quoted on his website as saying "Interns have the chance to be an essential part of a working congressional office," said Craig. "They participate in the legislative process as well as ensure that constituent services run smoothly. For those interested in politics, it is an incredible opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how our government functions while serving the people of Idaho."

Actually, interns in most Senate offices perform basic administrative duties, such as greeting constituents, answering phones, and sorting mail.

Applications and more information about the internship program are available on the US Sen Larry Craig website or at any of Craig's regional offices in Idaho.

Media Ranger has a lot of questions about all this. If you have any, you can contact Larry Craig's office at the following address:

So They Say

Other than the relatively inconsequential circumstance that one is a woman and the other is a man, the main difference between a woman born transsexual and a drag queen is that a transsexual spends her life savings on operations to correct a birth defect and a drag queen spends all his money on costumes and make-up. There is little difference in the overall cost, however, and its effect on a person’s bank account – the transsexual in a relatively short period of time, the drag queen over his lifetime -- the subsequent results are distinctly dissimilar.
