Medical Care, HIV Testing Offered Wednesday Evenings And Saturdays At The Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center
 
Washington, DC, USA. The Whitman-Walker Clinic will offer primary medical care and HIV testing on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings for the remainder of June, Clinic officials announced today.
 
“This is another step on the road to providing convenient care for our community,” said Philippe Chiliade, chief medical officer of Whitman-Walker Clinic. “With Capital Pride taking place this week and National HIV Testing Day on June 27, we want to reach out to all members of the community with the message, ‘We are here for you.’”
 
Primary medical care and HIV testing will be available at the Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center at 1701 14th St., N.W., on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. beginning June 14 and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning June 10. Clients can make an appointment by calling 202 939-7690.
 
“These expanded hours are also a pilot project to help us determine the best times to offer care,” Chiliade added.
 
Established in 1973, Whitman-Walker Clinic is a non-profit, community-based provider of health care and social services in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
 
Through three sites, in the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia, the Clinic offers primary medical and dental care; mental health and addictions counseling and treatment; HIV education, prevention, and testing; legal services; case management; and a food bank. Whitman-Walker Clinic is committed to meeting the life needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community and people living with HIV/AIDS.
