There is a county park for Bicyclists, roller-bladers and joggers called "Flatwoods" on the route of my morning commute to work; It has a large population of wild pigs, deer and other smaller game aninalls that tend to cross the roadway at just the wrong time-- We have a permanent fairly large population of Turkey Vultures that do the clean-up work and seem to be quite well fed. It usually takes a road crew 4 or 5 days to get around to picking up the remains. So far, I'm only guilty of killing a stray Armadillo one night; I saw him and couldn't swerve, but managed to strattle him with the wheels; unfortunately Aramdillos have a "startle reflex" that causes them to pop straight up, Clunk, clunk-- oops sorry about that.
