Ideas can never be killed with hate, that only makes them stronger. The only way to kill an idea is to render it inert by supplanting it with a newer idea. I agree with you Diane on the misapplication of Mooney's ideas. and yes the Tee-Gee types are not at all like us. Then they make claim we can be psychologically cured or at least treated as being no different than those afflicted with GID so that we might become 'normal'. Now therein lies the tragedy of misinformation and faulty research conclusions. The cross-over treatment of those with GID and those born HBS is faulty application of a socially constructed doctrine and not reality as evidenced by the murmurs of the Harmony and Prince TG types at the one end and the Money's at the other. Along with the David Reimer case, this study just goes to prove that men and women are not made, they are born. As for Harmony - I don't like to fight, but if anybody's a full-time trannie it's Harmony. Sorry, but I live out in the real world, not in "the community." I fixed my problem, and got on with life. I find the whole mix and match "third sex" argument/option to be artificial at best. As for living in a dress-up world - gee, that's a new one to me. Like the vast majority of us who suffered from HBS, I dress for the situation, and the occasion. I'm a Gen-Xer, who works as a professional in a manufacturing environment. That means a decent pair of slacks and decent top (since I do technical work). Most TGs I remember knowing years ago, always looked like they were either dressing up to go clubbing, or go to a banquet. Away from work, like most women, I prefer to dress in comfortable, casual styles. Nope - we don't play "dress-up." BTW, as a college grad, I find it irritating to hear argumentive statements made that do not prove supporting text. These statements end up sounding like so much propagandistic sloganeering (sort of like the Marxists and Communists in the 70s, with their "capitalist pig/running dog" epithets). Besides, people who live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones.
