The curent article is somewhat light-hearted but has serious implications. The study is a first step. The researchers are now pursuing full-scale work on this subject. We have been in touch with the researchers to explain how medical myths can harm the HBS population.

The first step toward a solution is to encourage full recognition of HBS by the medical establishment, followed by proliferation of that knowledge to practitioners in the field. We are encouraged by the emergence of scientific rigor in psychology and psychiatry. This should lead to significant reforms. Much remains to be done, however, to complete he job.

The social sciences are another matter. They are encumbered by personal and ideological bias that retards progress. - Sharon S. Gaughan

Another myth uncovered.

And the next myth to be uncovered would be that HBS is an element of TG'ism. I would love to see this corrected to read: 'HBS has been found to be a distinct neurological condition formed in the fetal brain and has nothing to do with transgenderism or its elements'. - Diane Kearny
